Mr. Hawksworth brings over 25 years of experience providing clients with information systems consulting services to the Chief Executive Officer position at MSS Technologies, Inc. As founder of the Company, he developed the company's initial business plan, designed its corporate structure and assembled its management team. Mr. Hawksworth is directly responsible for company policy, management practices and corporate development.

Under the direction of Mr. Hawksworth MSS has been well recognized by both Partners and Customers, locally and nationally. The following are a number of the awards achieved with his leadership:

  • FastTech50, a list that highlights successes in Arizona's technology sector, has included MSS beginning in 1996. In 1996, MSS was ranked #43, #40 in 1998 and made an impressive jump to #19 in 1999 and 2000.

 

Prior to MSS, Michael Hawksworth was co-founder and President of Micon, Inc., started in 1986. Micon, Inc. provided information systems services to the electric and gas utility industry. Under his direction, Micon, Inc. grew to an Inc. 500 company in 1991. MSS Technologies (Micon Systems) was spun-off from Micon in June 2002 as an independent and separate entity with Mr. Hawksworth as the President. Michael started his information systems consulting career with Arthur Andersen & Co.'s Management Information Consulting Division, now Accenture, after receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems from Arizona State University in 1979. He was promoted to Manager in 1981, and served as a Senior Manager in Phoenix Arthur Andersen office, specializing in the management of large-scale information systems projects.

Community and industry activities include active corporate membership with TechAmerica (formerly AeA/American Electronics Association). As a member since 2000, Michael has served as Chairman of AeA's Arizona Council Executive Committee as well as participated at the National Board level. He currently is active as an Executive Committee Member in the local chapter. Michael has been an active member of the Greater Phoenix Economic Council (GPEC) since 2002 and currently serves as an Ambassador to GPEC. He previously participated on the GPEC Ambassador Steering Committee in the early stages of that program and continues to participate on the Committee. Michael has participated for several years on the Rio Salado Community College President's Advisory Board and is an active ASU alumni and member of the ASU Economic Club. He currently is an active member of the Dean's Advisory Board at ASU's New College of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences. Today he actively participates in the Arizona Technology Council CEO Roundtable.
