Successfully Implementing an EBS Financial Statement Generator (FSG) Solution

Supershuttle, Inc. has made a name for itself in the transportation industry, by acquiring and running Van, Hired Driver and Shuttle services in multiple cities. Its acquisition method was to deploy the standard operating procedures for the back office out to any acquisition, streamlining its operations and offering a lower overhead cost of doing business. This approach was very successful, and caught the eye of Violia Transportation. Violia made Supershuttle a lucrative offer, where cash would be available for them to continue to grow and deploy their successful business model under the Violia name and Supershuttle accepted.

Transportation Industry: Challenges

The accounting year-ends of Supershuttle and Violia did not correspond, and needed to be brought in line very quickly to accommodate home office reporting.
Needed to find a short term as well as a long term solution that would be cost effective and deployed in a reasonable timeframe

Transportation Industry: Solution

A fast Financial Statement Generator (FSG) solution was deployed onits Oracle E-Business Suite setups to accommodate the immediate reporting needs.
Re-implementation of GL, AP, AR and FA was developed and implemented.
The long-term solution was to re-implement E-Business Suite, in a swift and timely manner. Utilizing existing custom interfaces for AP and AR invoices, Journal Entries, as well as ADI, MSS was able to deploy a solution in 440 man hours.
The project included multiple sets of books, multiple operating units, and a redesign of their current operating unit structure to be in line with the new businesses.

Transportation Industry: Results

MSS realized it was not required to re-invent the wheel for this project, but existing interfaces could be used to streamline the data load process from the old calendars.
This saved time and money for Supershuttle, bringing the project in on time and on budget.
