Cognos Business Intelligence Architect/Developer

 Description

MSS is seeking a full-time Phoenix-based employee to service MSS customers within our Business Intelligence Practice. This is a fast-paced position that may require supporting multiple projects simultaneously. The position is based in MSS’ Phoenix office. Local candidates only, no visa sponsorship or relocation assistance is available. Experience with the full life cycle of planning and implementing BI solutions with Cognos is required.

MSS Provides the following Business Intelligence Services:

• Business Intelligence Consulting Services for all stages of the implementation Life Cycle
• Business Intelligence Training Services
• Business Intelligence Planning Services

Candidate should be able to demonstrate prior successful implementation experience with the following Cognos Products, or their earlier releases:

• Cognos 8 BI Sutdios
• Cognos 8 Framework Manager
• Cognos 8 Administration

In addition, experience with any of the following products is a plus:

• Cognos 8 Planning
• Cognos 8 Controller
• Microsoft Reporting and Analysis Services
• Cognos 8 Data Manager

• 2+ Years hands on experience with Cognos Required
• 3+ Years in one or more DBMS (Oracle, MS SQL)
• Hands on experience gathering business requirements and translating them to
      formalized design specifications
• Proficiency with Data Modeling and related tools
• Proficiency with Report, Dashboard and Scorecard design and development
• Hands on experience using OLAP tools
• Familiarity with ETL concepts and interaction with ETL vendor technology
• Working knowledge of design/implementation of SOA in Data Management
• Experience with software implementation methodologies
• Experience with other BI tools and vendor products highly desirable
• Cognos product certification a plus
• Excellent communications and customer service skills
• 3+ Years with Business Intelligence/Data Warehousing tools
