Shirley Duran joined MSS as a Consulting Manager in 2010. Shirley brings expertise in IT strategic planning, project management, system integration, enterprise planning alignment, process improvement, business process management and all aspects of accounting to MSS. Shirley’s experience demonstrates her ability to easily facilitate understanding of both business and technology strategic objectives. Helping clients develop a robust change management plan for project success “A large lighting manufacturer was implementing the JD Edwards Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. The Client had completed a pilot with one of their smaller locations, and it hadn’t gone well. One reason: the client didn’t have a change management strategy. They engaged MSS to create a change management plan for the upcoming full rollout. “When we arrived onsite, the project had been going on for well over a year. We quickly got a lay of the land to figure out where the client was in the implementation process, who the stakeholders were, what their concerns were, what they saw as gaps, and what they saw as strengths." “Based on the input, we put together a change management plan that addressed: stakeholder engagement (how the client would engage with their stakeholders moving forward); communication (what kinds of messages would go out, the timing for those messages, the target audience, and the best forms for communication); and training (an inventory of what material would be built, when, and how the training would actually be delivered). Furthermore, we provided mentoring services to the customer-designated Change Management Lead. Working together with that Lead, we were able to get him up to speed on the plan, give him methods to challenge and overcome resistance, and better equip him to move forward in that role.” MSS Core Value: Be tough in the face of difficulty.
